Global Journal of Animal Law

The Global Journal of Animal Law (GJAL) is established as an Internet-based, semiannual publication. The GJAL is offered as a public service by the Åbo Akademi University in Finland Department of Law. The purpose of the GJAL is to publish peer-reviewed, high quality articles, commentaries and notes on current topics of animal law written by legal academics, practitioners and other experts to present, develop and promote human understanding of animals (nonhumans) status in legal orders. The aim is also to offer a base for the networking of animal law researchers, students and other interested parties. The reader of the GJAL will find the content of the GJAL up-to-date on current issues in animal law, international in scope and easily accessible on the Internet.
