Sector descriptor: The demonstrations were held in one of the main milk production areas where there are serious problems in milk collection. There is a recent tend by livestock farmers to diversify from beef raising and fattening to dairying. Collection centres may be located up to 150-km from the farm.

Key Questions/Feedback:

Milk supply to processors currently fluctuates by 20-40% of total production. This amount could be reliably collected using the LP-s.
The private milk processors attend the workshop committed their support to the introduction of the LP-s in the country.
Milk Producer Association committed their approval, extension and sustained application of the LP-s in Colombia.
