Here is another observation on Paper 1.b

The paer says "Often the debate centres on the so-called non-science based standards, recommendations and guidelines found in the body of Codex work such as grade standards for fruits and vegetables. However a solid argument could be advanced that these detailed technical considerations are, in fact, science-based."

I fail to understand how grading of fruits and vegetables are scientific in relation to health and environment safety. Health and environment safety is the prime concern. Grading may be scientific in terms of selection for the processing industry. Let us think if too much importance is given to grading, many varieties of specific crops will go out of cultivation in future. Will this not amount to a loss in biodiversity?
