Richard Fowler from the Agricultural Research Council (ARC), South Africa volunteered to be the regional liaison person. Inventory of networks The first task of the liaison persons and other workshop participants was to investigate the existing country networks and send the required information back to Richard Fowler (Appendix III). Terms of reference for network secretariat The next step would be to prepare draft terms of reference for discussion by country liaison persons and to workshop convenors. Those tasked with this were Richard Fowler, Theodor Friedrich and Kurt Steiner. Matrix of experiences and demands A questionnaire was
to be drawn up and the information elicited included in a matrix which would provide a
quick overview of the expertise available in the region as well as the information needed.
The matrix would also facilitate the follow-up of personal commitments. |
