This group is comprised of experts in agricultural processing engineering, food engineering, bioprocess engineering, food
technology and beneficial insects.
Typical activities of the Food and Agricultural Industries Group are:
development, efficient utilization, and management of food and agricultural process engineering technologies;
participate in food chain systems analysis regarding handling, processing, packaging and value-added
transformation of food and agricultural products;
advise on the provision and efficient utilization of renewable energy and other engineering inputs including
equipment in agricultural and food processing and handling;
provide technical advice on food and agricultural industries, including design, construction, operation and
management of small scale food and agro-industries, through value-added transformation and preservation technologies
including in-plant quality control, materials handling, packaging, marketing, distribution and storage.
