FOOD AND AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRIES GROUP

This group is comprised of experts in agricultural processing engineering, food engineering, bioprocess engineering, food technology and beneficial insects.

Typical activities of the Food and Agricultural Industries Group are:

  • development, efficient utilization, and management of food and agricultural process engineering technologies;
  • participate in food chain systems analysis regarding handling, processing, packaging and value-added transformation of food and agricultural products;
  • advise on the provision and efficient utilization of renewable energy and other engineering inputs including equipment in agricultural and food processing and handling;
  • provide technical advice on food and agricultural industries, including design, construction, operation and management of small scale food and agro-industries, through value-added transformation and preservation technologies including in-plant quality control, materials handling, packaging, marketing, distribution and storage.
