Is dairying good business and can it improve the life of rural farmers? See hereunder some 'stories' from the field where we see what milk producers, collectors and dairy processors have to say. For the 'story behind the story' we will soon have a more in-depth analysis of selected 'stories'.

A DAIRY CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY
Malindi, Kenya. The Manyeso Dairy Co-operative Society Limited, was registered officially in 2005. It has it roots in the Manyeso Dairy Women Group in 1995.

MOOR DAIRY PRODUCTS MILK BAR
Eldoret, Uasin Gishu District, Rift Valley. Mr. Nixon Oroto is the proprietor and manager of Moor Dairy Products milk bar at Langas within the peri-urban area of Eldoret Municipality.

A DAIRY CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY
Githunguri, Kenya. Githunguri Dairy Farmers Co-operative Society was started in 1961 with a membership of 31 smallholder dairy farmers. It is located in Kiambu (50 km from Nairobi).

A MILK BAR
Kakamega, Kenya. Mr. Eric Masinde Sigar entered into mobile milk trade after realizing it was difficult to get employment with his primary school certificate.
