Who can participate?
Institutions wishing to use AGORA must register with FAO. Access to AGORA is password controlled, and upon successful completion of the registration process, your institution's library will receive a password that can be used by all students, faculty and/or staff at your institution. The AGORA Publisher Partners offer free access to relevant institutions in the Group A countries listed below and low cost access to the Group B countries.
The country lists are based on four factors: Total GNI (World Bank figures), GNI per capita (World Bank figures), United Nations Least Developed Country (LDCs) List and Human Development Index (HDI). See criteria. Individual publishers reserve the right to add to or delete from these country eligibility lists. Within these countries AGORA will benefit not-for-profit national academic, research or government institutions in agriculture and related biological, environmental and social sciences. Eligible institutions whose staff and students may have access to the journals are: universities and colleges; research institutes; agricultural extension centers, government offices and libraries.
If your institution is in a Group B (low-cost access) country, area, or territory, AGORA costs US$ 1500 per institution per calendar year (from January through December). All eligible institutions registering from Group B will receive a six month trial without payment. Registered institutions in Group B will be invoiced in due course by WHO (for FAO/R4L) for the $1500 fee for access during 2016. The income generated will be invested in local training initiatives. If your institution is in a Group B (low-cost access) country, area, or territory, and cannot or chooses not to pay the annual fee, the institution will still be eligible for free access to a small number of information resources.

Group B (low-cost access)
This list of countries, areas, and territories is intended for use by the Research4Life partnership only. Given the specific nature of the design of this list which incorporates factors relevant to our public-private-partnership, we recommend that anyone seeking a list of countries fitting certain criteria should consult original United Nations, UNDP, and World Bank data.
