What is AGORA?

What is AGORA?

AGORA (Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture) is a programme developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and its partners to improve access to scientific information for agriculture sector institutions in developing countries. AGORA provides access up to 6500 high-quality, timely, relevant agriculture and life science journals and up to 22000 books to more than 3000 institutions in more than 115 countries. AGORA is designed to enhance the scholarship of the many thousands of students, faculty and researchers in agriculture and life sciences in the developing world. to eligible institutions in qualifying countries.

How can I register my institution for AGORA?

How can I register my institution for AGORA?

If your institution meets the eligibility criteria listed on our website, please complete the online registration form. Only one registration is required per institution. Once the AGORA staff has processed your completed registration form, you will be contacted and given detailed instructions on how to access and use the system. This usually takes two to three weeks. It is essential that your institution complete all of the fields in the registration form with the information requested. Failure to complete all of the fields in the form will result in delays in processing your application.

  1. What is your institution name, and country of institution?
  2. What is the username and password you are using?  
  3. Are you able to logon? Or do you get a "Failure to authenticate" message?
  4. If you are able to log on, are you unable to access all journals or only certain journals? 
  5. If only certain journals, please let me know the name and number of what is not working. Some journals are only available in abstract form, you will see that list once logged on.
  6. Please include a screenshot (including URL) showing the error message you receive on screen. This will help us help you.
