IPOMOEA AQUATICA Forsk. L. 

 

 

Emerged aquatic plant, which has a long trailing vine with milky sap able to reach up to 3 meters long. Stems hollow, to 3 m. long, rooting at nodes. Leaves are arrowhead-shaped, 2.5-10 cm. long, and 2.5-3 cm. wide. F lowers are showy, funnelform like orning-glory-like: 5 cm. wide, white or pink. It is normally found in canals, ponds and paddy. It is a serious weed in many Asian countries.
