Improvement of the management of pastoral resources in Chad
This project takes place in a context of the current crisis in the Chadian livestock sector, marked by the deterioration of social ties between the different users of pastoral resources, due to a lack of appropriate pastoral legislation.
The goal of this project is to assist the development of a Pastoral Code, the adoption of which will reduce the risk of conflicts over the use of pastoral resources by different actors, on the one hand and guarantee secure pastoral systems, on the other.
In pursuit of this objective, the project is structured around two major components:
the first component looks specifically at the formulation of the Pastoral Code
the second focuses on information management on pastoralism through SIPSA (Information System for Pastoralism in the Sahel)
The project is being implemented in collaboration with the main actors in the public and private sectors, civil society, policy makers and opinion leaders.
