农业元数据元素集 (AgMES)
关于 AgMES 项目属于更为广泛而全面的 AgStandards 计划，该计划试图通过使用标准化的农业元数据术语以尤其是推广元数据的使用，促进资源发现，确保描述方式独特而信息丰富的农业资源之间和内部的互操作性，并使用本体规范 AOS Project Website 确定有关规范、词汇、准则和标准，以促进不同来源的数据一体化，开展有效的数据交流。
AgMES 项目确定一般的然而为描述农业资源又必需的元素、修饰词、编码模式和控制表单。该项目的建议以都柏林核心元数据首创计划 (DCMI) 所建议的元素作为起点。
These are two examples of basic metadata applied in specific environments; they illustrate very well the simplicity of the metadata "declaration".

总目标是利用旨在促进有效传播农业内容而正在形成的标准，对互操作性层面作出定义。具体任务是:
- 通过促进“开放式”信息交流计划即公开档案首创计划 (OAI)确定低隔离层，以便发现初级资源；
- 确定更丰富的层面以便发现二级资源，尤其是非数字化资源，并促进农业资源元数据描述的同质性；
- 在适当的机器可读技术网络中传输元数据规范（即共同XML文档类型定义、XML模式扩展DC元数据集和RDF（资源描述框架））；
- 使用此格式作为一种共同标准，使多主服务器的多组结果质地一致 (能够对分布式异质数据库进行平行搜索的搜索界面);
- 数据拥有者使用此格式管理农业资源。
