The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) together with World Wildlife Fund (WWF), EAT, and Climate Focus, released a new report "Enhancing National Determined Contributions (NDCs) for food systems: Recommendations for decision-makers".The report argues that countries are missing significant opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and identifies 16 ways for policymakers, including action on food loss and waste as well as sustainable and healthy diets.

This report provides guidance and recommendations for policymakers to enhance the role and opportunities of the food system to contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation. Moreover, it stipulates concrete suggestions of policies and measures that could be included in NDCs for activities across the food system.
