The Journal of Social Science of the Rural Federal University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) presents a Special issue on “Feminism and Agroecology”. The Special issues result from postgraduate research conducted in the Northeast region of Brazil involving local and foreign institutions with which the UFRPE maintains collaboration.

The referred dossier also expresses a strong academic performance in the agroecology group of the Department of Social Sciences (DECISO), which is integrated into undergraduate and graduate courses in the area, maintains a presence in national and international scientific associations, local research groups and interinstitutional institutions, including the III International Colloquium on Agroecology that was carried out in April 2019 with the participation of more than 500 among academics, social movements, extension workers. The dossier begins with the interview with Emma Siliprandi on the interdependence of agroecology and feminism and an analysis of the scarce institutionalization of this agenda in academic education in the world.
