Webinar: ‘’Food security and nutrition, food sovereignty and Sustainable Development Goals’’ on 19 October at 14:00 GMT

The fourth live of the series “Revisiting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at Embrapa"  will discuss Food security and nutrition, food sovereignty and the connection with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Among the speakers of the event moderated by Tatiana Sá, a researcher at Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, will include Dalva Maria Mota, researcher at Embrapa, Ângela Conceição Lopes de Jesus, president of the Federation of Rural Workers, Farmers and Family Farmers of the State of Pará (Fetagri-PA, for its acronym in portuguese), Maria Emília Lisboa Pacheco, advisor to the Federation of Organs for Social and Educational Assistance (FASE) and a member of the Brazilian Forum on Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security (FBSSAN, for its acronym in portuguese) and  Emma Siliprandi, Agricultural Officer at FAO.

The lives series began in June with the proposal to reflect on the role of agricultural research in achieving the goals proposed by Agenda 2030, defined in 2015 by the United Nations (UN), and which established the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a global call to eradicate poverty and promote decent life for all, respecting the limits of the planet. Two more digital debates should take place in 2020 on Bioeconomy and Forest Management.
