The Conference "Agroecology, an option of present and future” will be held on 16 October 2020, at 10.00 am CEST. The conference is organized by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID for its acronym in Spanish) and will discuss agroecology as a multidisciplinary and multi-actor model for sustainable agriculture.

As an effective model for transforming food systems to support family farmers, agroecology is scaling up in Spain and around the world. But with this expansion, there is also a need for more knowledge, research, reflection, and debate on this political, social, and economic concept and its operational application.

The conference brings together various actors in the field in order to create synergies and implement sustainable agroecological models that contribute to improving the particular conditions of rural populations and the global food and production system. The report 'Implementing  SDG2 in sustainable agriculture through agroecology' published by AECID in March this year will be presented during the event.
