Over the past decade, a new food system narrative has been established. Nothing less than a real paradigm shift for agriculture, nutrition and food systems emerged, inspired much by the International Assessment of Agricultural Knowledge, Science and Technology for Development (IAASTD) finalized in April 2008.

More than a decade has passed since the publication of the IAASTD report. This new book takes an overview of the progress achieved by the publication of the first report of "Agriculture at the Crossroads". The co-publishers Benny Haerlin and Hans R. Herren, present 31 contributions on behalf of 40 eminent experts in their field, providing a strong critique of today's dominant food systems while at the same time providing global evidence of a clear paradigm shift.
