The group ‘’Jornada de Agroecología’’ composed by a wide range of actors committed to agroecology celebrate this event for defending a land free of transgenics and no pesticides. The care of the land, the culture of biodiversity, food sovereignty, and the construction of the popular project for agriculture are other principles carried by the event.

With songs, mystics and cultural performances, the youth group of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) begins the opening political-cultural act of the 18th Agroecology Day. The event brings together dozens of farmers to exchange experiences and discuss the production and cultivation of agroecological products. During the four days of the event, the various activities, training and workshops take place in the facilities of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). With the space “Knowledge in Movement: on the street for public education”, which will expose more than 30 public university extension research projects, as well as lectures, workshops, concerts and book launches.

The exchange of information and awareness about healthy eating without poison, the defense of an alternative model to agribusiness and the burning of the Amazon, which are literally setting fire to Brazil, are at the center of the debate.
