Países
A lo largo de los últimos años, los países han sido invitados a preparar una serie de informes sobre la gestión de sus recursos zoogenéticos: como parte del proceso de elaboración del primer informe sobre La Situación de los Recursos Zoogenéticos Mundiales para la Alimentación y la Agricultura; durante la primera ronda de presentación de informes sobre la aplicación del Plan de Acción Mundial sobre los Recursos Zoogenéticos; y como parte del proceso de elaboración de El Segundo Informe sobre la Situación de los Recursos Zoogenéticos Mundiales para la Alimentación y la Agricultura. Con el fin de traducir las disposiciones del Plan de Acción Mundial en actividades bien definidas de ámbito nacional, unos cuantos países han desarrollado estrategias y planes de acción nacionales para los recursos zoogenéticos, están en trámites de hacerlo o tienen previsto desarrollar algún instrumento de este tipo. Estas directrices aconsejan sobre cómo preparar las estrategias nacionales y los planes de acción.
