Objectives: Engage the food and agriculture sectors in selected countries to support the development of National Action Plans (NAPs) on Antimicrobial Resistance

Outcomes and outputs:

Outcome: The national health and food safety authorities and other relevant agencies in the 6 project countries are enabled to implement, in a coordinated manner, an integrated national plan for the containment of AMR; reporting regularly on the status of AMR containment to the highest political levels nationally and regionally.

Output 1: Key players in the food and agriculture sectors have raised their levels of awareness of the risks and impact of AMR, along with their commitment to integrated health (food safety, human, animal and plant) management under the One Health approach.

Output 2: The beneficiary countries have a multisectoral situation analysis on antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial use, according to their production and institutional systems in the food and agriculture sector.

Output 3: Institutions and stakeholders of the food and agriculture sector have expanded their technical capabilities to improve surveillance, prevention and control of AMR.
