This illustrated document provides lessons learned (good and bad) in a succinct readable format from a regional fisheries development programme which conducted field activities on information and communications technology (ICT) for small-scale fishers across six south and southeast Asian countries over three years.
The Regional Fisheries Livelihoods Programme (RFLP) supported the establishment of a multi-agency technical committee which drafted a national plan for the safety of fishers and fishing vessels at sea for Sri Lanka. The national plan presented in this document was approved by the government.
The Regional Fisheries Livelihoods Programme for South and Southeast Asia (RFLP) has sought to reduce fisher vulnerability in Cambodia by introducing a safer and more stable design of the commonly used 12-meter wooden fishing boat. This case study  describes the   process and outcome of this intervention.
