Introduction of advanced techniques in fruit production will lead to better harvest

Seminar-discussion on ‘Perspectives of intensive fruit tree production with modern technologies in Armenia’ took place on November 1, 2017 Within the framework of the ENPARD ‘Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Agriculture’ project. During the discussion the international experts Davide Neri, the professor and director of Scientific Center of Horticulture of Rome and Giorgio Murri presented the modern and advanced techniques, applied in horticulture, the Italian system of rootstock production and certification, importance of conducting correct pruning and trimming in order to have high-quality yield. At the end of the discussion the current condition of fruit production, perspectives of applying modern technologies, as well as the importance of developing program of fruit production were presented. The seminar-discussion was attended by representatives of RA Ministry of Agriculture, scientific centers, Agricultural Support Marz Centers, Armenian State Agrarian University as well as farmers from all marzes of Armenia. Within the project a manual on pruning and trimming for widely-spread crops in Armenia has been developed in partnership with the Italian partners, the draft version of which was presented to the seminar participants.
