Master Plan for Agricultural Development in Southern Region of Bangladesh
Bangladesh is part of the largest deltaic floodplain in the world. It slopes gently from the north to the south, meeting the Bay of Bengal at the southern end. The southern region overlaps with the coastal zone, which is physiologically and ecologically diverse and environmentally most vulnerable.[more]
Protecting and Promoting Food Security and Nutrition for Families and Children in Bangladesh
FAO, WFP and UNICEF jointly with the government of Bangladesh have been implementing a three-year (2010-2013) MDG-F programme titled “Protecting and promoting food security and nutrition for families and children in Bangladesh”. This project is funded by the Government of Span through MDG-F that addresses the availability, access and utilization of nutritious foods. The project is being implemented in Barisal Division along the southern coastal belt of Bangladesh with the aims to achieve improved food and nutrition security for vulnerable children and pregnant women affected by acute and moderate malnutrition.[more]
