2018 FAO Model Farmers Awards

Model Farmers from five countries of the Asia-Pacific region received FAO awards for their innovation on October 19, 2018 at the celebration of World Food Day in the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok. The award recipients for 2018 are from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, The Lao People's Democratic Republic, Maldives, Thailand and Vanuatu.

The event was opened by FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative, Kundhavi Kadiresan. The Guest of Honour was Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand. The Keynote Speaker was Jomo Kwame Sundaram.
