We would like to draw your attention to the first-ever World Food Day International Poster Design Competition for children and young people. Contest rules and instructions – in English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Italian – are published at http://www.fao.org/getinvolved/wfd-poster-contest/contest-home/en/#ad-image-0.

Young people from around the world, aged 5 to 17 are invited to enter their work in the competition. Deadline for submissions is 30 September 2012. 

With the help of a volunteer working with us here at Headquarters, we have started to promote the poster contest with schools and media outlets around the world.

If you are planning to collaborate in this activity – and we hope you will! – please find attached two different “pitch” emails that we suggest for your use in contacting schools and media.  Please note that whenever you send one of the emails, it should be accompanied by the Poster Contest fact sheet (also attached).

We also encourage you to publicize the contest on your local website, if you operate one.  Attached are colorful web banners, to be linked to the poster contest website mentioned above.
