VISION:  To be the leading source of administrative guidance and support to FAO technical groups, projects and operations in the Asia-Pacific region; and to contribute to Organisational Objectives by assisting these groups in operating efficiently, effectively and transparently.

MISSION:  To provide innovative, efficient support to management and other clients whilst ensuring compliance with the FAO rules and regulations and transparency in their application.

The group provides guidance on the application of the Organization’s administrative rules, regulations and guidelines (including financial, programming and budgeting); maintains financial records within corporate financial systems (Oracle, DWH) for RP activities and projects, as per applicable guidelines; provides general administrative and logistic support including for meetings, travel arrangements, transportation, office maintenance, procurement, security, inventory control, purchasing, library, communications, visa, protocol and registry operations, etc.; supports programming and budgeting for the RO, MDTs and SRO, including annual work plans, periodic budgetary reports (PBRs) and advice on allotment use and revisions; supports recruitment and servicing; supports the FAOR network; coordinates and supports ICT services including computer hardware and software, servers, telephone exchange, mobile computing devices and electronic security and safety equipment; processes all (staff and non-staff) travel, protocol and visa actions initiated by budget holders in the region; and processes other administrative transactions (procurement, etc.).

The FAO Senior Administrative Officer is Coordinator of the Administration Group;  monitors the group’s activities; oversees compliance and regulatory matters; arranges for trouble shooting and training; represents the group; and liaises with the Bangkok-based outposted IT officer and the Offshore Systems Development and Support Centre (OSDSC).  The group also contains the Bangkok hub of the Shared Services Centre dealing with personnel matters and travel.

Other group members are Budget and Finance Officer, the Human Resources Officer, and the Programme and Planning Officer.
