Located in the Western-central Pacific, the Federated States of Micronesia [FSM] is a sovereign nation consisting of four states: Kosrae, Pohnpei, Chuuk and Yap. The country has a close relationship with the United States of America through the Compact of Free Association, through which substantial funds are provided for the government.
