Description: Small island states such as the Cook Islands are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Tackling these impacts requires far more human and financial resources than the Cook Islands has at its disposal. This report looks at some of the steps being undertaken, or proposed, to adapt to climate change. This includes work on climate-resistant crops and incentives for more private sector investment in agriculture. Developing the national capacity to respond to change, and fostering effective partnerships with local, regional and international communities, will ensure the country is better equipped for the future.
