| Investment Centre |
| | The Investment Centre is a division of FAO's Technical Cooperation Department. It promotes greater investment in agriculture and rural development by assisting developing countries to identify and formulate effective and sustainable agricultural policies, programmes and projects. It does this with funding from multilateral institutions such as the World Bank, regional development banks and international funds as well as FAO resources. |
| Employment |
| | Human resources are the essence of FAO. This is reflected in the fact that a large part of FAO's budget is spent on people working for FAO. In fact, FAO has over 4000 employees, almost evenly distributed between its decentralized offices and field projects in developing countries and headquarters in Rome. |
| Technical Cooperation Programme |
| | The Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) supports the FAO Member Nations through small projects which address specific problems in the agriculture, fisheries and forestry sectors. The aim of a TCP project is to produce tangible and immediate results in the battle against hunger and to catalyse long-term changes. |

| The Information Management Resource Kit (iMARK) |
| | The Information Management Resource Kit (IMARK) is a partnership-based e-learning initiative to train individuals and support institutions and networks world-wide in the effective management of agricultural information. IMARK consists of a suite of distance learning resources, tools and communities on information management. |
| Capacity Building |
| | To achieve the goal of improving the range of financial services that are available to rural populations, the FAO Rural Finance Group has long recognised the need for training and human resource development in financial institutions, government agencies and donor organisations. It is now recognised that field staff who advise and work with rural communities also need improved knowledge of financial planning and management to assist people to make better use of whatever financial services are available. |
