The ECTAD Socioeconomics Unit organises weekly in-house meetings at which FAO and other experts are invited to make a brief presentation of their area of work before opening the floor to a question-and-answer session and general debate. Participants include members of the ECTAD Socioeconomics Unit, officers and consultants from other FAO divisions, and experts from other international organisations based in Rome (IFAD and WFP). Always lively, these sessions offer an invaluable opportunity to share ideas and expertise, fine-tune ongoing projects and proposals for future projects, and keep all those involved or interested in the HPAI crisis up-to-date with the latest activities concerning the socioeconomic impact of avian influenza on lives and livelihoods.
