14 May 2008 - FAO Permanent Representatives were briefed on 14 May 2008 on the current status of avian influenza and lessons learned in efforts to prevent and control the disease. FAO Deputy Director-General Jim Butler addressed the seminar and there were presentations from WHO and the Central Laboratory for Quality Control on Poultry Production of Egypt's Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. The briefing was followed via FAO webcast.
