On 14-15 September 2004, a workshop entitled "Safety assessment of foods derived from modern biotechnology for the States of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)" was held at FAO Headquarters, Rome, organised by FAO`s Food Quality and Standards Service and the Municipal Department, Human and Environment Affairs of the GCC.
