On March 20, 2012, a half-day workshop on "Facilitating Smallholder Access to Improved Dairy Genetics" was held in Washington D.C., United States of America, coordinated by the World Bank, FAO and other partners. The objective of the workshop was to review and discuss experiences in attempting to increase productivity of smallholder dairy farmers in developing countries, in particular looking at the economics and technical factors influencing access to improved genetics and artificial insemination.
