The Conference of the Parties, serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, requested the Executive Secretary to convene, prior to the sixth meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, a regionally-balanced workshop on capacity-building for research and information exchange on socio-economic impacts of living modified organisms (LMOs).
