Building a common vision for sustainable food and agriculture

Monday 1 December, 13:00-14:30, Iran Room

Building a common vision for sustainable food and agriculture

About the event: The side event will present current efforts and achievements by FAO and the Government of Rwanda towards building and implementing a common vision for sustainable food and agriculture, and discuss the way forward for implementation in other Member Countries.

Purpose: FAO’s Common Vision for sustainable food and agriculture calls for a new, strategic and integrated way to engage with Member Countries in their efforts to move towards making their agriculture, forestry and fisheries more productive and more sustainable. After having developed a set of concepts, approaches and tools to facilitate implementation, FAO is now piloting the SFA approach in 3 countries (Bangladesh, Morocco, Rwanda) to test its effectiveness and learn from it before upscaling the work in more countries in the near future.
