SO2: Make Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries more Productive and Sustainable

About the event: Strategic Objective 2 is implemented through four Regional Initiatives (RIs) that address specific regional and country-specific issues, and five Major Areas of Work (MAW) that address issues of a more global nature. Both mechanisms are implemented at country level and are in line with the Country Programming Frameworks (CPF). During the 151st Session of FAO Council SO2 side-event of 24th March offers an opportunity to discuss progress in the implementation of the Strategic Objective in four Countries. The side-event will be organized in the format of a moderated Panel “Talk show” discussion where panelists from Egypt, Guatemala, Indonesia and Rwanda will delivery and discuss with the audience key messages supported by achievements of Strategic Objective 2 in their respective countries.

Purpose: The objective of the side-event is to present and discuss with the audience (1) key successful achievements in Egypt, Guatemala, Indonesia and Rwanda (2) associated success factors (3) potential for up-scaling of the achievements (4) lessons learned and (5) suggestions for improvement.

An introductory short video followed by a brief Presentation by SO2 coordinator and four interventions from the Country Representatives in order to deliver key messages and engage with the audience through questions and answers in a session facilitated by a moderator.
