Part 2 considers how forestry will have to adapt for the future, focusing on: the global outlook for wood products demand; mechanisms for meeting the demand for environmental services of forests; changes in forest-sector institutions; and developments in science and technology. This volume will serve as a source of information to support forest-related policy and research. It is hoped that it will also stimulate creative thinking and debate to enhance the future of the world's forests.
FAO's State of the World's Forests reports on the status of forests, recent major policy and institutional developments and key issues concerning the forest sector. It makes current, reliable and policy-relevant information widely available to facilitate informed discussion and decision-making with regard to the world's forests. A useful reference for policy-makers, foresters, environmentalists, academics and all readers concerned with the major issues affecting the forest sector today. Quel sera l'impact sur les forêts du futur développement économique, du commerce mondialisé et de l'accroissement démographique? L'édition 2009 du rapport biennal sur la Situation des forêts du monde se penche sur cette question sous le thème "Société, forêts et foresterie: s'adapter pour l'avenir". La première récapitule les perspectives pour les forêts et la foresterie dans chaque région en se basant sur les études prospectives régionales du secteur forestier publiées périodiquement par la FAO. Les tendances déjà observées et les projections relatives aux changements démographiques, économiques, institutionnels et technologiques sont examinées pour ébaucher des hypothèses pour 2030. La deuxième partie analyse comment la foresterie devra s'adapter à l'avenir. Y sont examinés en particulier: les perspectives mondiales relatives à la demande de produits ligneux; les mécanismes destinés à répondre à la demande de services environnementaux des forêts; les changements opérés dans les institutions du secteur forestier et les évolutions scientifiques et technologiques. Ce volume servira de ressource d'information pour appuyer les politiques et les recherches relatives aux forêts. Il se propose également de susciter une réflexion et un débat féconds et de contribuer ainsi à améliorer l'avenir des forêts dans le monde.
Le rapport Situation des forêts du monde 2009 est destiné à un large éventail de lecteurs. ¿Qué repercusiones tendrán el futuro desarrollo económico, el comercio globalizado y el aumento de la población mundial en los bosques? La edición de 2009 del informe bienal Situación de los bosques del mundo mira hacia el futuro, con el tema "Sociedad, bosques y actividad forestal: adaptarse al futuro". En la Parte 1 se resumen las perspectivas de futuro de los bosques y la actividad forestal en cada región, tomando como base los estudios periódicos regionales de la FAO sobre las perspectivas del sector forestal. Se examinan, así, las tendencias del pasado y los cambios demográficos, económicos, institucionales y tecnológicos previstos para esbozar el escenario de 2030. En la Parte 2 se aborda la manera en que la actividad forestal se tendrá que adaptar al futuro, y se presta especial atención a las perspectivas mundiales de la demanda de productos madereros, los mecanismos para satisfacer la demanda de servicios ambientales forestales, los cambios en las instituciones del sector forestal y los avances científicos y tecnológicos. Este volumen servirá como fuente de información para respaldar las políticas y la investigación relativas a los bosques. Se espera, asimismo, que estimule el pensamiento y el debate creativos con el fin de mejorar el futuro de los bosques del mundo.
