Committee on Commodity Problems

74th Session of the Committee on Commodity Problems

The Committee on Commodity Problems (CCP) is the FAO Governing Body that tracks agricultural commodity markets, deliberating key issues, debating their effects on food security, and making policy recommendations. It reviews global issues that affect the production, trade, distribution, consumption and prices of food and agricultural commodities, debates specific commodity problems and proposes action to mitigate them.

The 74th Session of the CCP will review the latest developments in food and agricultural markets and examine market outlook, including medium-term projections. The Committee will also discuss the findings of FAO’s flagship publication The State of Agricultural Commodity Markets (SOCO) 2020 on the theme “Agricultural Markets and Sustainable Development: Global value chains, smallholder farmers and digital innovations”. Furthermore, it will provide guidance on FAO’s work programme in commodity markets and trade for the period 2022-25 and beyond.
