Global assessments

The Commission’s global assessments are undertaken by FAO through a participatory, country-driven process. They are based on national assessments of the state of genetic resources, their use, the drivers that contribute to their erosion and the challenges and opportunities involved in conserving and using them in a sustainable manner to contribute to food security and nutrition.

The Commission’s Multi-Year Programme of Work foresees regular updates of the global assessments.
