UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn 2019

From 17-27 June 2019, the fiftieth session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 50) and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 50) is taking place in Bonn, Germany.

At this year’s conference, a major objective will be to finalise remaining decisions, also known as the 'rulebook' ensuring the full implementation of the Paris Agreement

As in previous years, FAO will be supporting countries with techical advice both within and outside the climate negotiations. FAO will be leading, co-leading and speaking at events that focus on key topics and decisions that gained precedence at last year’s Conference of Parties (COP24), including the Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture (KJWA) and smart-energy solutions in agrifood chains. Workshops - Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture 

The focus is on methods and approaches for assessing climate change adaptation, adaptation co-benefits and resilience. Participants will look at improved soil carbon, soil health and soil fertility under grassland and cropland as well as integrated systems, including water management.
