United Nations Climate Change Conference, Copenhagen 2009

FAO will support countries during the upcoming 15th session of the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP15) to be held from 7 to 18 December in Copenhagen, Denmark to ensure that linkages between climate change and food security issues are taken into account during the Conference.

Climate change and food security: unifying commitment and action in land-based sectors

Bella centre, Victor Borg room

A side-event organized by FAO and the Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries. Climate change, food security, poverty - key challenges that intersect in land-based sectors - cannot be addressed in isolation from each other. The World Summit on Food Security and UNFCCC COP-15 provide opportunities to promote solutions that manage synergies and trade-offs for multiple benefits.
