Finland-FAO Forestry Programme

The agreement on the Sustainable Forest Management in a Changing Climate Programme was signed between the Government of Finland and FAO in March 2009 at FAO headquarters, Rome. The Finland-FAO Forestry Programme aims at strengthening the FAO resources and capacity in methodological and tool development at FAO headquarters and five pilot countries (Ecuador, Peru, Tanzania, Viet Nam and Zambia). Special emphasis is on providing tools and methods for multi-purpose forest inventories and for REDD+ monitoring and climate change adaptation.
