Strengthening the definition and implementation of public policy regarding water management in the General Secretariat for the Pacification of the Republic’s Presidency (SEGEPLAN) and in the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources
2. Regional Level
While collaborating with the CODEDE for the Guatemal’s Dry Corridor which encompasses the departments of Progreso, Zacapa, Chiquimula, Jutiapa, Baja Verapaz y Quiche, the project works with institutional actors, NGOs, the private sector, CSOs and with municipal associations for development (COMUDES)
3. At Municipal Level – For the Demonstrating Interventions
5 muicipalities were selected on the basis of household water availability in the area of Baja Verapaz. These municipalities are Cubulco, San Miguel Chicaj, Rabinal, El Chol, Salamá, and Granados, they cover a total surface area of 2,164 Kms2 and count with a total population of 153,742 inhabitants.
