Project approach and components

The project approach focussed on institutional and technical capacity development for Farmers' Cooperatives and the Juye Agricultural Bureau to provide enhanced services and advice to farmers for proactive Disaster Risk Management (DRM) in the agricultural sectors. It also catalyzed improved planning for DRM at village as well as at county level including coordination across sectors.

Guiding principles for project implementation

  • Applying cross-sectoral livelihoods perspective;
  • Participatory;
  • Linking bottom up and top down perspectives;
  • Focus on small holders & poor;
