Global Conference, Alliance for a Climate Smart Agriculture
The Hague, the Netherlands, 9-11 July, 2014

More than 120 people representing partner governments, private sector and CSOs, attended the Conference, hosted by the Government of the Netherlands with support from the World Bank and FAO. Participants were invited to contribute to the development of the Alliance for Climate-Smart Agriculture, and to guide its evolution.

Participatory scenarios for Climate-Smart Agriculture

EPIC, in partnership with the CCAFS programme of the CGIAR will host participatory scenario building workshops in Malawi, Viet Nam and Zambia. A broad range of environment and agriculture policy makers will explore with researchers and practitioners national strategies and policies for agriculture in the face of a changing climate. Regional Workshop on African Agriculture in a changing climate: Enhancing the up-take of Climate Smart Agriculture
Arusha, Tanzania, 11-14 February 2014
The regional workshop, organized by COMESA, ACPC, EAC and CCAFS, brought together delegates from 21 countries from Northern, Eastern and Southern Africa to share information about climate-smart agriculture and the UNFCCC negotiations. 3rd Global Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change
Johannesburg, South Africa, 3-5 December 2013
The 3rd Global Conference was organized by the governments of the Republic of South Africa, the Netherlands, in collaboration with FAO and the World Bank. It provided a platform to discuss and share experiences on successes, and to deliberate the challenges and threats to food and nutrition security under the impact of climate change. As in previous Global Conferences in The Hague and Hanoi, Andrea Cattaneo delivered a keynote presentation and highligted the main achievements of EPIC.

United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP19/CMP9
Warsaw, Poland, 11-22 November 2013
As in previous COP18 Conference in Doha, EPIC provided inputs to the FAO Guide on Agriculture at UNFCCC COP19, took part in meetings and supported representatives from the Ministries of Agriculture of Malawi, Viet Nam and Zambia to attend the Conference. See more on FAO support to COP19.
