SBSTA workshop

The Subsidiary Body on Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) of the UNFCCC will hold a Workshop on the assessment of risk and vulnerability of agricultural systems to different climate change scenarios at regional, national and local levels, included and not limited to pests and diseases. Countries have requested FAO’s participation during this workshop.

How to address climate change risks and opportunities in National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) to ensure food security

In this side-event, FAO in collaboration with the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative (MCII), WFP and UNDP will explore key issues for decision makers to address climate risks on food security and demonstrate insights into the organizations’ efforts to support the National Adaptation Planning (NAP) process.

Adaptation Knowledge Day

This half-day event will allow a number of officials from the climate arena to focus on the adaptation to the effects of climate change. FAO will be presenting on how technical support to the agriculture sectors and knowledge sharing can be strengthened as part of the global agreement on climate change and what works and what doesn’t when it comes to adaptation practices.

Climate-Smart Agriculture Advantage: better returns for smallholder farmers

The UN Rome-based agencies FAO, IFAD and WFP together with the World Farmers’ Organization will present their experiences in working with farmers in developing countries to enhance adoption of climate-smart agriculture.
