Food insecurity and climate change are two  major interlinked global challenges that humanity is facing today. The FAO Knowledge Event on climate-smart approaches for agriculture will provide a forum for dialogue among participants from countries and the broader public on how to address these challenges jointly. It will also be an opportunity to present the latest cross-sectoral programmes and activities on agriculture (including forestry and fisheries) and climate change.

 

Participants in Climate-Smart Knowledge Event at Doha will
  • Hear directly from countries on the need to tackle food insecurity and climate change impacts together to achieve their sustainable development goals
  • Receive an update on innovative tools and financing options as well as on new data to address the challenge of global food security within climate change
  • Engage with all stakeholders, including governments, civil society organizations, farmers  private sector and academia, for a constructive dialogue on climate-smart approaches to agriculture
