Antimicrobial resistance: global implications

About the event: This side event aims to increase awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the risks that it poses across the world. The event targets permanent representatives to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and other delegates to the COAG. It will add new insights to the ongoing debate on AMR with the objective of supporting the work of the UN and its agencies on AMR. The event is also an opportunity to discuss the outcomes of the High-level Meeting on AMR during the UN General Assembly on 21 September 2016.
