Corporate Environmental Responsibility Strategy 2020-2030
The FAO has launched its new Corporate Environmental Responsibility Strategy for the next decade. The new strategy outlines a series of objectives, all working towards an ambitious target of a 45 percent reduction in emissions associated with FAO facilities and operations.

Corporate Environmental Responsibility Strategy 2017-2020
As part of the 2030 Agenda and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, with this Strategy FAO is committing to:
- Continue monitoring the environmental impact of its functional operations;
- Improve its ecological performance by reducing GHG emissions by 5.4% (compared to 2015) both at HQ and in Decentralized Offices and continue offsetting the remaining unavoidable emissions;
- Embrace the circular economy principles in procurement and waste management;
- Develop Environmental Management Systems for key Decentralized Offices.
In line with the Corporate Environmental Responsibility Policy, the Greening the Blue Initiative, and the wider UN Sustainability Strategy, FAO seeks to constantly enhance the sustainability of it's operations and facilities worldwide.
