©FAO/Giuseppe BizzarriSo far, Grenada has not reported any Swine Flu, influenza A pandemic H1N1 virus in pigs however, this virus does circulate in humans. In poultry, there have not been any reports of the panzootic H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus.

Due to the Caribbean region’s importance and in line with the FAO external evaluation and internal reform, regional technical support for animal production and health activities have been reinforced from April 2009 with the presence of an FAO Livestock Development Officer based in Bridgetown, Barbados.

National Medium Term Priority Frame Work (NMTPF)
A NMTPF for Grenada (2006–2010) was completed in 2006.
