Dates

Egypt is ranked in the first place among the top five date – producing countries in the world. Dates are rich in iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and they are a good source of fibre. They are also rich in calories, making them a great energy source. The date palm can grow in hot, arid climates and has a tolerance for saline water. These qualities allow it to grow and offer a food source even in difficult environmental conditions, such as deserts.

Egypt produces 1.7 Million tons per year which represents 17.7 % for the world’s dates production and 24.4% from Arab countries dates production.
